Bryan Wall, MD

Vice Chairman Clinical Operations

Bryan Wall, MD is a fellowship-trained specialist in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, including reverse shoulder arthroplasty. His dedicated skill set and outstanding academic record have made him one of the leading shoulder specialists in the nation. Dr. Wall was named the 2007 recipient of “The Mel Post Award for Excellence in Clinical Research” by the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES). Dr. Wall is also highly trained in arthroscopy and total knee replacements.

Dr. Wall received his bachelor’s degree in zoology and physiology, magna cum laude, from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During medical school at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Wall received the Joseph B. Whitehead Award before graduating cum laude. After medical school, Dr. Wall completed his residency at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he also served as assistant team physician for the University of New Orleans.

Dr. Wall completed a highly coveted fellowship program in shoulder surgery at the renowned Clinique St. Anne Lumiere in Lyon, France with Dr. Gilles Walch and the co-inventors of the internationally recognized reverse shoulder arthroplasty procedure. Reverse shoulder arthroplasty is usually reserved for individuals who possess complex problems of the shoulder and are rotator cuff deficient. It represents an improvement over traditional treatment options because it allows for better function and motion. The procedure has also allowed treatment for a larger segment of patients, who until recently did not have any realistic surgical options.

Dr. Wall keeps active in academic medicine. He has served as an assistant professor at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, and he has presented numerous, acclaimed scientific papers and posters to an international medical community. In his most current research project, Dr. Wall is conducting clinical outcome studies and biomechanical studies regarding reverse shoulder arthroplasty with Dr. Gilles Watch. He has presented numerous papers and published several book chapters and articles on the subject while serving as a teaching figure to instruct other surgeons on how to perform the procedure.
